After their great success in the Durham heats of the North East Business Awards, local transport firm Elddis Transport has managed to take home the Low Carbon, Environment and Corporate Responsibility award at the regional final. It is great to see a nominee from our local area based just out of Consett take home one of the most prestigious awards of the night. This is such an achievement due to the duties which they have taken upon themselves to make sure their impact on our environment as little as possible.
One of the big implications of Elddis Transport winning this award is that they are now not only the most socially responsible transport company in our area but the most socially responsible company in the whole of the North East. This is a huge accolade and we can all be proud of the work this local company has done to make strides in their respective field.
The star spangled event held at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield County Durham. All of the attendees were treat with excellent food and some motivational words from political journalist John Sergeant before the award ceremonies were due to take place. With everyone dressed to the nines the award ceremony got underway celebrating the business achievements around the North East. We here at Consett Magazine would like to congratulate Elddis Transport and all of the other nominees on the night that had made it through to the regional final.
With such an exciting and vibrant competition this year it’s hard to imagine how well the businesses in Consett will do next year. Will Elddis Transport retain their award next year? I for one can’t wait for the competition to start all over again.
Congratulation once again to everyone who was involved in the awards and we wish you all good luck in next year’s competition.
