It’s time for the Party in the Park once again, will you be heading along?
The Derwent Valley Partnership is once again hosting the Party in the Park event this coming July to Consett and Blackhill park. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come along and get involved in the party atmosphere. Individuals sand community groups alike will be entertaining everyone with their performances taking place all day, including; Act on Theatre Group, Jane Robson School of Dance, Spotlight Community Theatre Group, Consett Phoenix Youth, Chris Justice, and Liam Carr.
On Sunday 20th July between 12-6pm a wide variety of bands and musicians will be playing for the crowds at the completely free event this year, just some of the bands attending are: The Dust Town Dogs, Jazz in my Pants, Motion Tourist, The Hourglass Theory, Funky Style Brass, Runaway Samba, Accidental Damage, Metal Militia, and 9T’s. If any of these highly talented bands and performers interest you then you should definitely head along to the Party in the Park this year!
It’s important to realise that this party is completely suitable for families, with a picnic area in range of the live music for the perfect location to sit and have a bite to eat. Anyone can browse through the information stalls and take part in any number of the wide variety of special challenges and activities set up around the area – including face painting, bungee trampolines, and a fantastic challenging climbing wall.
For the litter-conscious among you, you needn’t worry… two community litter picking events have been planned throughout the day to ensure that the park is kept clean, tidy, and safe for families across the whole area for hours. There are also refreshments available to be purchased at the event and, if you’re a meat eater, a lovely healthy barbecue in place of a Sunday lunch.
