John O’Connor and Matthew Tetley visited Redwell Hills Nursing Home in Leadgate today to give a talk on the centenary of Consett RFC.
The residents watched part of https://www.youtube.com/@ConsettRFC and were impressed by Roy Tyerman.
The visit was organised by Ellie Crowe, the activities co-ordinator at Redwell Hills and the residents have been invited to attend a rugby match and have a tour of the clubhouse.
“it was an enjoyable morning and was particularly poignant for me as my mam was a long term resident of Redwell Hills. Its very important in Consett Rugby Club’s centenary season to reach out to all parts of our community and the residents were delighted to receive the rugby balls so they could play the game in their own time!”
