Consett Scouts Coffee Morning

On Saturday 10th May, between 10am – 12pm, Consett Scouts will be hosting a Coffee Morning will be held at Christ Church Hall in Consett.

Everyone has an invite to Blackhill and Consett’s Coffee Morning; snacks and refreshments will be served all morning along with a cake stall and a tombola.

Consett ScoutsDonations to the stalls have been very helpful. There will also be the opportunity to take a viewing of the building site of the new headquarters, so that people can see for themselves how great the building really will be. All photos are shown at www.consettscouts.org.uk.

Consett Scouts Race Night

The local scouts group needs help! Consett Scouts are planning a camp with a difference this year. Seven nights on a narrow boat completing the  ‘Four Countries Ring’ in October. This will be an amazing opportunity for anyone of the scouts involved, it will help them develop a range of new skills.

However, the funds for the trip are a little short, this is the whole idea of the race night. The night has been organised on the 31st May at Consett Football Club. The goal is to raise around £700; there has already been a lot of donations from local businesses including Imago, Sarah Thew, Bitzography and Derwentside College.

Businesses have a choice of either donating money (minimum of £15) and in return, Consett Scouts, will promote your business. The other choice is donating prices for winning horse owners and raffles, any support would be appreciated.

For any information about the event contact Tori on 07983 568866, or by email; tori@newcombe.org

The race night will begin at 6pm on Saturday 31st May at Consett Football Club. All money raised goes to the Scouts’ Canal trip.

Tickets are £3.50 per person, which includes a light buffet and refreshments.

To sponsor a horse, all that is needed is a small donation of £2 – any of your chosen horses that come first place will be awarded with a prize.

Any payments will need to be paid by the 17th May.
