Hi my name is Ruth Foreman I’m one of the Messy Church leaders and we are setting up the first messy church Consett this Sunday at Christ Church Community hall.

We look forward to welcoming all families to explore the Easter story through Crafts, activities and stories. At the end of the event we all have tea together. For the last couple of years with Covid families haven’t been able to come together to share in celebrations, this is why we particularly wanted to open our doors to everyone.

New families have told us that there hasn’t been the chance to meet other parents and children and they are looking forward to making new friends. Another big draw to the day is the newly hatched chicks that one of our leaders Sue Thompson will bring along to the day, here is a picture of her son Edward Thompson helping to care for them until they come for a visit on Sunday.

Messy Church Comes to Consett !

It will be Palm Sunday so as well as having Chicks we have Donkey Oatey coming to see us at Messy Church.

Just to reassure everyone we have a local small farm for them to go and live at after the event.
