Consett, 23 November 2023 – In the midst of the ongoing industrial action, GoNorthEast has issued an important update regarding bus services in Consett and the surrounding areas. Commuters are advised to take note of the latest changes to ensure smooth travel during this period.

Current Service Situation as of 23rd November, 11:00 AM
Due to the industrial action’s impact, GoNorthEast regrets the inability to run a full service. However, they are committed to maintaining essential connectivity, particularly for schools and certain contracted routes. Efforts are being made to establish a skeleton service across as many routes as possible.

These are primarily managed by office staff and managers who hold bus driving licences, alongside regular drivers who have chosen to work during this period. Passengers should anticipate delays due to the limited frequency of services, and GoNorthEast extends its gratitude for the public’s patience and kindness towards its dedicated team.

Apology and Commitment:
GoNorthEast extends a sincere apology for the inconvenience caused during this challenging time and reassures the community of its dedication to finding a resolution to the ongoing industrial action.
